Rapid detox

Have you heard of rapid detox? I haven’t until I read an article over the net about it and I got so interested that I read some more. You see, back in college, I together with some classmates wrote a paper about drug addiction. We went to different drug rehabilitation facilities back then for our research and was able to talk to drug dependents as well who were going through rehab. That time, there still was no such thing as rapid detox that helps patients get rid of physical addiction faster than the usual. Although rapid detox does not cover psychological aspect of addiction, I think its a great help to conquer any form of addiction as the main problem for drug dependents according to our study when I was n college was relapse. And relapse most likely happens during the first few days days of trying to quit or what they call withdrawal that causes extreme discomfort on the striving drug addict that sometimes prompts him to give up even before he can quit his addiction. The cycle goes on and on.

Reading up on rapid detox makes me wonder how many lives it could and should save.  There’s hope after all.
